Ed is a communicator and businessman of exceptional experience. He brings a lot to the table to serve real estate clients. From 1960 to the late ‘90s he was a communicator and executive in the business world. In 1998, Dick Alt asked him to try his hand at real estate. His strength at the negotiating table and his integrity are landmark personal qualities that clients appreciate in Ed.
Ed is originally from Delta in northwestern Ohio, west of Toledo. He graduated from Bowling Green State University and was a reporter for the Toledo Blade and other newspapers there and in Columbus. In 1978, he transitioned from news to marketing and sales with Ohio Bell and in the next 20 years also owned two businesses.
One business was Marketing Conference & Communications Center (MC3) which produced high-powered marketing presentations including a ground-breaking extravaganza that Earle Bruce used to recruit Ohio State football players. All the other major football powers in the nation copied the Ohio State presentation the very next season. He also was instrumental in 2 other Columbus start-up businesses. One of them was The Midwest Implant Institute (MII) which, 3 decades later, still stands as one of the top training programs in the world for teaching dentists how to perform dental implant surgery and restoration.
Ed has belonged to several professional organizations and served in Urban Concern, the inner city ministry of Xenos Christian Fellowship, for more than 20 years. He currently helps lead a men’s rehab group at The Refuge in west Columbus. His home in Clintonville and his wife Brenda are the stabilizers in his life. He’s lived in the same house since 1970 and has been married to Brenda since 1991. Ed has 3 sons. He and Brenda have 4 grandchildren in Columbus and 2 more in Montana.
